We measure the hours annual accounting was built to average out.
CFE Energy started from a simple frustration: two organisations could both report "100% renewable" while one had a genuinely clean load profile and the other bought its way around a gas-heavy grid at night. We set out to build the measurement layer that tells those two stories apart.
WHY WE EXIST
Independent, not another certificate seller
CFE Energy doesn't sell energy. We're the matching and verification layer that sits between an organisation's raw metering and PPA data and the claim it wants to make — running on a published methodology rather than an opaque internal score.
That independence is deliberate. A verification platform that also profits from certificate volume has a built-in incentive to make match rates look better than the data supports. We don't carry that conflict.

Every feature on the platform maps back to a specific clause in the CFE Energy Standard. When we revise the methodology, the product follows — there's no parallel scoring system that has to be reconciled with it later.

Standard-first
We publish our own methodology and build to it directly. No opaque "clean score" that can't be reproduced from the underlying data.
Auditable by default
Every match traces to a metered reading and a certificate reference. If a claim can't be shown to an outside verifier, we don't report it.
Source-agnostic
We treat every generation and supply source the same way in the matching engine — no preferred vendors, no certificate resale margin.
